featured: barrington's white house | mansion weddings
My plan for 2019 is to start featuring some of my wedding faves from Chicago, Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin. I have worked with and photographed so many venues, as well as wedding creatives, like floral designers, hair and makeup artists, dress designers, invitation designers, planner…I could go on! So I thought I’d share some of my insights with you!
My first feature is a lovely intimate wedding venue, Barrington’s White House, right in the heart of downtown Barrington, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Barrington’s White House is a 3-story 1800’s mansion, that’s been completely renovated with all the modern amenities, like full kitchens for catering, bathroom facilities, and air-conditioning.
Barrington’s White House is perfect for tiny to smaller weddings. Some couples with very small weddings have had their ceremonies in the fireplace room, while others with larger guest lists, choose to have celebrate their marriage in the 3rd floor ballroom, which also serves as a reception space.
One of my favorite things about Barrington’s White House are the many large windows, which offer great light for photography. The Bride’s Room is also a lovely space for photographs, and the staircase landing is also famous for portraits. If the weather is nice, there’s a cute little side garden next to the house.
If you’re interested in taking a look at Barrington’s White House and talking with them about your wedding, come to their Open House on January 12th! I happen to be one of the Barrington’s White House preferred photographers, so I’ll be there, along with a number of other wedding vendors, so you can taste and see if it’s perfect for your intimate wedding. You must register, but it’s a free event, so definitely check it out!
